What is the difference between the 200-hour and 300-hour programs?
The 200-hour program establishes the foundations of yoga philosophy, asana, pranayama, meditation and teaching methodology. It qualifies graduates to teach and is recognized by Yoga Alliance USA. The 300-hour program builds on a completed 200-hour training with deeper study, advanced teaching methods, anatomy, restorative yoga and specializations in Pranayama and Meditation . Eligible graduates may combine both qualifications toward RYT 500 registration.
Can I teach yoga after completing the 200-hour program?
Yes. A Yoga Alliance USA-recognized 200-hour teacher-training qualification supports registration and teaching in many countries. The certificate is the beginning of the journey: confidence and mastery continue to develop through personal practice, teaching experience and further study.

The residential course fee generally includes: • Selected room accommodation • Daily Vegetarian meals • Study materials and course manual • Scheduled yoga classes and philosophical teachings • Teacher guidance Personal expenses, travel or airport transfers, laundry, souvenirs, spa services and optional wellness services are not included unless specifically stated for your course.

Pre-Course & Enrollment

Are there pre requisites for joining a 100 hr Yoga Therapy Foundations course at Swasti Yogashala?
Yes. This specialized program requires a minimum of 200 hours of prior yoga training and foundational knowledge of yoga principles, asana, pranayama, and basic anatomy. Current yoga practice or teaching experience is expected. The course is designed for practitioners ready to specialize in yoga therapy applications and healing practices.
Are there pre requisites for joining a 200 hr course at Swasti Yogashala?
No formal prerequisite is required for most foundational programs. Beginners, intermediate practitioners and experienced yogis are welcome. Participants must be physically and mentally fit for an intensive residential course. If you have a medical condition, injury or health concern, consult your doctor and obtain medical clearance before enrolling. Course-specific eligibility shown on the course page still applies.
Are there pre requisites for joining a 300 hr course at Swasti Yogashala?
Yes. A 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training certification from any accredited school is required. Submit your certificate at enrollment for Swasti's verification. This prerequisite ensures participants possess the foundational knowledge to fully benefit from this intensive 300-hour program.
What if I have a medical condition or physical limitation?
Tell us about all medical conditions, injuries, chronic pain and limitations during registration. Teachers can offer appropriate modifications, but some conditions require written medical clearance or additional support. Early disclosure helps us assess whether the program can be attended safely.
Is there a minimum or maximum age limit?
Participants must normally be at least 18 years old. There is no strict upper age limit, provided the participant is medically fit and has appropriate medical clearance when required.
Do I need prior yoga experience?
No prior experience is required for a foundational course. The curriculum starts with core principles and develops progressively. Previous knowledge of yoga, meditation or pranayama may support your learning, but it is not compulsory.
Can I start in the middle of a batch or join part-way through?
Courses follow a continuous curriculum from the first day to completion, so joining mid-batch is generally not permitted. Contact the school before booking if exceptional circumstances affect your arrival; management will advise whether another batch or arrangement is suitable.
How do I enroll and confirm my spot?
Sign up online. A 30% non-refundable and non-transferrable advance deposit reserves your spot. You'll receive an enrollment confirmation email. The remaining balance is typically due upon arrival or within the first few days of the course. Review the payment policy details carefully before confirming enrollment.

Curfew is to return to the premises by 9:00 PM (not later). Our staff needs adequate rest to prepare for the next day. If you plan to be out later, inform management in advance. Health & Safety

Is Rishikesh safe for international travelers?
Rishikesh is widely visited by international travelers and yoga students. Use normal travel precautions: arrange trusted transport, safeguard documents and valuables, avoid isolated areas after dark, follow local guidance and keep the school informed of travel plans.
What happens if I become sick or injured during the course?
Inform a teacher or staff member immediately. The team can help arrange local medical attention or transport when needed. Medical treatment, medicines and external services are the participant’s responsibility, so suitable travel and health insurance is strongly recommended.
Is Rishikesh safe for a solo female traveler?
Many women travel independently to Rishikesh. Use verified transport, avoid walking alone in poorly lit areas after dark, dress respectfully for the local context and share arrival details with the school. Contact reception if you need assistance.
Do you have an emergency contact procedure?
Emergency and reception contact information is shared with confirmed students. Keep these details available on your phone and in writing. In an emergency, notify staff immediately and contact the appropriate local emergency or medical service.

Certification & Teaching

What certification will I receive after completing a course?
The certificate depends on the program successfully completed. Eligible 200-hour and 300-hour teacher-training graduates receive the corresponding certification from Swasti Yogashala, a Yoga Alliance-registered school. Attendance, assessments, conduct and course requirements must be completed.
Is Yoga Alliance USA certification recognized internationally?
Yoga Alliance registration is widely recognized within the international yoga community, although teaching, insurance and professional requirements differ by country, studio and employer. Check the regulations that apply where you intend to teach.
How do I register as an RYT with Yoga Alliance after graduation?
After receiving an eligible certificate, create or access your Yoga Alliance account, select the appropriate RYT registration route, enter the school and training details, upload the requested documentation and complete the current review and fee process directly with Yoga Alliance.
Can I begin the 300-hour program immediately after the 200-hour program?
A completed 200-hour teacher-training qualification is normally required for the 300-hour course. Although consecutive study may be possible, time for personal practice and teaching experience can be valuable. Confirm eligibility and batch timing with the school before booking.

Graduates remain part of the Swasti Yogashala community and may receive alumni updates, practice resources, community access or guidance opportunities. The type and frequency of support may vary by program and teacher availability.
Can I return for refresher courses or additional training?
Yes. Alumni may join suitable advanced courses, specialized modules, workshops or selected classes subject to eligibility, schedule and availability. Contact the school with your previous course details.

The school does not guarantee employment. Training develops teaching skills, professional awareness and confidence. Opportunities may sometimes be shared with alumni, but each graduate is responsible for local requirements, applications, insurance and professional development.
Can I teach or lead retreats at Swasti Yogashala after graduating?
Graduation does not automatically provide a teaching position. Experienced alumni may submit a proposal or professional profile for future consideration. Any opportunity depends on experience, suitability, legal requirements, schedule and management approval.

Practical Details

Is internet or Wi-Fi available at the school?
Wi-Fi may be available in designated areas, but speed and reliability can vary. The residential course is intended to reduce distractions, so do not rely on uninterrupted internet for work or large downloads. A local mobile data SIM can be useful as backup.

A no-show or student-initiated early departure does not normally qualify for a refund or course completion certificate. The policy version accepted at checkout governs financial treatment. Inform management immediately if illness or an emergency affects attendance.
Can I defer enrollment to a future batch?
A deferral may be considered under the active transfer and cancellation policy, subject to notice, availability, price differences and approval. Submit the request through your student dashboard or email rather than making an informal arrangement.
